developing practice behaviors as research nurse.
Three methods that i will use to find knowledge specific to developing practice behaviour as research nurse :-
1. Clinical Experience:
-ability to generalize, recognize regularities and make predictions.
-is limited to a knowledge source bcs each nurse experience is too narrow to be generally useful.
-the same event is experienced and perceived different by 2 nurse.
2. Trial and Error:
-alternatives are tried successively until a solution to a problem is found.
-method tends to be irregular and disorganized and solution individual to the person
3. Logical Reasoning:
-combines experience, intellectual faculties and formal system of thought.
-Inductive reasoning: developing generalization from specific observations.
-Deductive reasoning: developing specific predictions from general principles.
-principles are limited bcd validity of of reasoning depends on the accuracy of the premises with which one starts.
4. Assembled Information:
-Local, national and international benchmarking data can facilitate evaluation of clinical practice.
-Cost date can be used as factor in clinical decisions.
-Quality improvement and risk data such as medication error reports can be used to asses the need for practice changes.
-All these diff types of data do not provide a good mechanism for determining whether improvements in pts outcomes result from their use.
