18.The strategies for communicating with a person who have impaired hearing are

  • Ensure a face to face communication, so that the person can maintain eye contact and lop reading in a good lighting
  • Start with calling their name
  • Use of gestures can help in more understanding
  • Make the person to repeat the word to conform that they have understood it
  • Speak slowly and gently
  • Avoid environmental exposure to noise
  • If patient can hear at one side ,make sure to communicate that sie

19.Th strategies for communicating with a payient who as I,paired hearing are

  • Self introduce yourself,and make the patient also to introduce themselves
  • Talk to the patient directly
  • Do not make gestures or movements rather explain it ,if happy ,sad, depressed ,anger,confuse tell them
  • Make a good distance ,so that the patient shoulder or arms can be touched to give then the assurance and c8nfidence the speaker is next to them and hears them
  • In a group communication, call out the patient name
  • Whole leaving, inform the patient because they also deserve self respect and self dignity
