Policy implementation: it encloses all action that take place during the realisation of the plans, i.e budgeting, construction of infrstructure and the undertaking of necessary institutional changes for policy measures. The policy implementation involves translating the objectives of a policy into an action, the objective of the policy implmentation is to show the important position of policy implementation within the planning process and their interdependence and the importances of participation and communication during policy formulation processes as well as during the implementation phase, implementation of a health care policy: implementation is critical to the success of health policies and legislation , even when a policy or piece of legislation of a high quality incomplete implementation may lead to policy failure resulting in untended population health consequences and ineffective uses of public resources , planning for effective implementation is therefore an important consideration during the development , review and scrutiny of policy and legislation. the 3 main activites involved in implmentation are organzation , interpretation and application, the uses of policy implementation are information, ( to make people aware of the policy), inducement( to make it easier for people to adopt new behavior,) enforcement ( to require people to adopt new behavior under threat of penalities) benefaction( to offer positive benefits orincentives to people who changed their behavior in the desired direction, importances of policy implementation :is that the assumptions that once a policy is formulated enacted and adapted it will logically be implemented is not always valid, preconditions to successful policy implementation: no instrumentable external constraints, and adequate time and sufficient resources and required combinations of resources are available and policy is based on valid theory, and cause and effect relationship are direct and uncluttered and dependency relationships are minimal , power and compliance etc. approach to implmentation : structural approach andprocedural and managerial approachand behavoral approach and political approach.
