In aged people there is a decline in drug elimination, so if we use the same doses as in younger adults it may result in high plasma concentration and toxicity. There are mainly 2 approaches for drug correction. Based on the extrarenal elemination fraction and the aging changes in creatinine clearance, the other uses the decline in total drug clearance. The mean value of these are used for calculating dosage of many drugs. Even if we correct/ calculate the dosage there will be certain health issues. There are some drugs, which the dosage cannot be calculate using this method. In case of those drugs better not to administer.
