Answer #1

ANSWER.

21.Calculation of dose of heparin being administered.

          Formula

         Heparin infusion rate :

Total units (in IV bag) / Total volume (ml) = Units/hour / (ml/hour).

          Here

                           Total units = 25000 units

Total volume = 250 ml.

                          ml/hour = 14 ml/hr.

                   So

                       Units / hour = Total units / Total volume * (ml/hour).

                                          = 25000 / 250 * 14

                                            = 100 * 14

                                        = 1400 units / hour.

22. Calculation of dose of cefaclorum need to be administered

Weight of the patient = 132 pounds

Convert pound to kg for calculation

                                    1 pound = 0.45 kg.

                     Weight of the patient (Kg) = 132 * 0.45

                                                                = 59 kg.

                 Desired dose = 5 mg/kg.

            So

                 Dose need to be administered = 59 * 5

                                                                     = 295 mg.
