Year after year, nurses are voted as the most “ethical” profession by Gallup polls, and the average person perceives nurses as altruistic, caring, and intelligent. Describe two key reasons that nurses are uniquely positioned to take the lead in challenging policy situations. (1-2 paragraphs)

One of the top priority in today's health care system is emphasizing the patients bill of rights. Though the patients have these rights, whether they are rightly executed, being used by client's or allowed by the health care providers is a major issue in the health sector today. It is the prime responsibility of nurses to see that that they are implemented. A nurse plays a vital role in providing awareness about patients rights, respecting those rights and executing them as mentioned. It will create a safe and secure environment for the patient, who will tend to voluntarily cooperate with all procedures and will develop faith, trust, and confidence towards the health care and the institution.

Nurses are always present with patients and are under pressure to deal with all kinds of problems and issues during patient care. They act as a shield and protect him from all the legal and ethical issues concerning patient care. Therefore, the nurse should update her knowledge about the new technology as well as the ethical issues affecting it. They are adept in safeguarding the subjects rights and is always given as the highest priority.
