1) i) New features of MS project 2016:

• Tell Me: This will look for the solution that we require instead of searching it online
• Add-ins: Microsoft partners applications could be downloaded from the office store in the same efficient manner that could be very easy to integrate with the project
• New Themes: Helps in changing the theme of the project.
• Multiple Timeline view: Helps in visualizing different phases of the project plan.
• Resource Capacity Heat Maps: Helps us to view how the resources are used effectively.
• In-App Feedback: Provides the feedback directly

ii) Creating WBS:

Work breakdown structure (WBS) could be created by the following manner:

• Click View-> pick a sheet view either a Task Sheet or Resource Sheet.
• Click Project-> Go to Properties group.
• Click WBS -> Define Code.

Project Code Prefix box could be preferred to create the project-specific code. Numbers, alphabets and symbols could be employed.

2) Task duration:

• Click View -> Gantt Chart.
• Now go to the Duration column and type the duration either in minutes (m), hours (h), days (d), weeks (w), or months (mo).
• Press Enter.

To establish task dependencies:

• Click View -> Gantt Chart.
• Click on the Predecessors or Successors column and choose the cell that has to be linked with the task
• The task that we require should be found from the hierarchical list of our task and choose the check box followed by clicking outside the drop-down box

3) Assigning resources:

The way to stop the messing of schedule with the resource assignment is to assign the resources according to the resource calendar and provide accurate scheduling.

• For assigning the resources, click the Resource tab -> Assign Resources.

4) Team Planner:

• To view Team planner, click the View tab on the ribbon
• Click Team Planner from the Resource Views group (on the left side all the resource name with the unassigned start date and deadline will be seen and at the right the assigned resources will appear. Unallocated resources will appear on the bottom)

5).Setting a baseline

Go to view tab and select Gnart chart which allows to set baseline for particular sub-tasks in a project. Instead if you want to create baseline for full project, then select the project tab and set the baseline.

6). Earned value

In order to evaluate the performance of cost, work schedule, we employ earned value. Another added advantage by employing earned value is that it enables comparison of actual values and baseline values. Generally, the earned value is based on the percentage of tasks completed and predicts the costs based on the baseline. Till the status date, the cost is calculated.

7).Copying the Time-line to other applications

You can do this by selecting the time-line tools format tab available under the timeline area. Now , you can select any other applications in the copy timeline group But in-order to employ this feature, you have to make sure that timeline is visible.

8).Accessing apps

You can access apps by employing web Office Add-ins by selecting store after clicking project. This takes you to alll necessary apps for creating a project.
