Performance evaluation is a method that is done to compare the work behavior of employees with that of the predetermined standards. The outcome of the performance evaluation is used to provide employees so that they can understand their flaws and improve their performance. In most of the cases, Managers conduct the performance evaluation of the employees.
It may seem that employee performance may look like a lot of work but it is actually useful regardless of who conducts the evaluation method (managers or supervisor). It provides structured information on the performance of employees so that managers may understand the number of average, above-average and below-average performances. Furthermore, it would also help HR to determine the pay scale of the employees. So, yes, in my opinion, employee performance evaluation would tell the managers entirely who to give rewards, against whom to take disciplinary actions so that everything would be in a systematic way.
