Jeff Galef worked on the principle associated with social transmission of food preference task(STFP).His purpose of his reseach was to find out how social transmission of food preference takes place in rodents/rats.He discovered that STFP is based on a principle which suggests that the information for obtaining diet in rats is communicated between the rats during social interaction. He explained that the foraging behaviour includes a demonstrator rat that consumes a novel flavor and then goes on to interact freely with another observer rat.He discovered that the STFP principle applies during this interaction when the observer rat gets the clue about the flavour of food from the demostrator rat and thus prefers the same flavoured food.Development of this food preference depends all on the ability of the observer rat which takes place during the interaction phase by detecting olfactory cues present on the breath of the demonstrator rat. These olfactory cues could be the scent of the food from the demonstrator rat.
Describe feff galesf’s work on foraging behavior in rats- what was the purpose of his research?...
What does optimal foraging theory predict about an animal’s foraging behavior? What factors unrelated to this theory may also influence an animal’s foraging choices?
Hello, I did a lab about the foraging behavior of fruit flies (Drosophila melanogaster). Where an experiment was conducted to see whether fruit flies (starved for 12 hours, only water was given) would prefer Real Banana V.S. Banana-flavoured Sucrose. The results I got were 88 picked banana, 23 picked banana sucrose and 29 picked both. The hypothesis I stated is that there is NO difference in foraging behavior of flies but that is obviously incorrect, ---------- SO HERES MY QUESTIONS...
7. Describe one example of how fruit color affects foraging behavior in animals 8. There are three mechanisms to avoid self fertilization (temporal, spatial, and self-incompatibility). Describe one example of each of the three mechanisms. 9. Describe how flowers attract different types of pollinators (e.g. bees, flies, moths bats, birds, etc). Choose at least three different pollinators. 10. Explain why a flash of light during the night would prevent flowering in a short- day plant, but wouldn't prevent flowering in...
Perspective 1. Describe the methodology of how John Snow conducted his observational study on the spread of an ID. What specific ID did he study? What behaviors did he observe? what findings did he discover? What specific type of investigative technique did he pioneer? 2. list and generally describe 2 examples of Predisposing, 2 examples of Enabling, and 2 examples of Reinforcing factors linked to effectively social distancing during the Co-Vid 19 Pandemic.

What is the purpose of exploratory research: What is primary research: What role does online research play in the overall market research toolkit:
Purpose: The purpose of this homework is to reinforce your understanding of the behavior of gases and gas mixtures and to practice using the Ideal Gas Law to characterize the conditions of gases. This problem set contains a variety of different problems. You are responsible for knowing what strategy to use when. (For help in recognizing problem types, attend workshop.) You may consult your class notes. You may work together. You may work with the assistance of your PALS, professor,...
A professor and researcher wants to know how his tardiness to class affects students behavior in class. For one class period he arrives 5 minutes early, on another day (for the same class) he arrives right on time and for a third day (in the same class) he arrives 5 minutes late. The researcher has planted research assistances in his class to measure the behavior the class. Which of the following statistical tests should be used to examine the data...
