Answer #1

A] x = 89 cos 150 degree = -77.08

y = 89 sin 150 degree = -44.5

B] x = 6.5 cos 345 degree = 6.28

y =  6.5 sin 345 degree = -1.68

C] x = 0.00556 cos 60 degree = 0.00278

y = 0.00556 sin 60 degree = 0.004815

D]x = 7.5*10^4 cos 180 degree = - 7.5*10^4

y = 7.5*10^4 sin 180 degree = 0

E]x = 12 cos 265 degree = -1.046

y = 12 sin 265 degree = -11.95

F]x = 990 cos 320 degree = 758.4

y = 990 sin 320 degree = -636.4

G] x = 8653 cos 225 degree = -6118

y = 8653 sin 225 degree = -6118

    Resolving Vector Components with Trigonometry 16 of 20> Part A Often a vector is specified by a magnitude and a direction; for example, a rope with tension T exerts a force of magnitude T 201 in a direction θ = 35° north of east. This is a good way to think of vectors; however, to calculate results with vectors, it is best to select a coordinate system and manipulate the components of the vectors in that coordinate system.
