There are both advantages and disadvantages for diversity at work or school. The benefits of diversity is that we get to know people from different locations, background, views and ideals. We tend to broaden our perspective and help us venture into new horizons.
But, the negative aspects of diversity are as follows,:
I encountred a problem in office where I worked few years back. There was a person from Southern India who had joined in as a marketing engineer. He was well-heeled in English. But our company and major customer base was located in northern India, where Hindi is most prevalant. Hence initially he had some difficulty in communicating with the clients. But he overcame this, he learnt Hindi language. All colleagues were encouraging and helpful towards him.
