Idea for a team project that would benefit the employer : Internal Training Programs for workers in an automobile plant

New Project : Re skilling Training Programs & Internal Mobility Programs for Workers : Training programs help workers who are skilled in a specific skill set learn new skills that can be applies across other lines of business or manufacturing , this allowing operations to move them seamlessly between production lines. This improve a sense of job security within the workers and also leave room for aspirations and career growth.

Rationale for my choice : Improving Employee Competency and Reducing Attrition & Layoffs due to Automation

The manufacturing unit can reconfigure their organisational and their operations in order create new value opportunities in the firm. Analytical data will show that if assets and workforce can be re configured to re assigned to a different location it would continue to add economical value to the firm

This project facilitates an environment where leaders create business , operational and managerial frameworks where both organisations and employees can thrive in the most challenging business and economics environments. Its socially responsible because it secures employees jobs by making them competent for business requirements.

Competence ensures that followers stay relevant to the organisation you work for and benefit both leaders and followers.

Serving the monstrous demand that arrises from a global economy requires a high degree of automation. The argument goes beyond mere efficiency on output of work. While machines are faster and more efficient than humans in terms of output, other political factors and decision in the pipeline such as a universal basic income of a rise in minimum wages could act as a catalyst in the adoption of automation. Manufacturing, back end support, customer service, manual labour, transport & logistics are the industries which will witness significant job losses.

Other close competing automative firms have implemented similar policies to prevent employee lay off and attrition of talent and a potential reputational risk  

For EG Honda has a PACT programme where the re skill work force and students to equip them to ensure that they have the necessary skills to survive the next wave of full automation.

Stakeholders comprise of individuals or a group of individuals within or outside the company who have a vested interest in the company's business. They could be employees. customers. management, operations , workers, vendors etc. Any one person or a group of people who have a vested interest in an organisation are called stakeholders.

Organisations can engage stakeholders and the community in the development of the philosophical approach to an organization by communicating effectively and clearly to both internal and external stakeholders.

Overview & Implementation of the training program

Having a horizontal and a lateral reporting structure for Training Programs : In this form of an organisational structure, trainers do not report to one particular leader but two or more leaders who over see a project and its integrity and implementation. This way the employee executing a project always has the freedom to approach any manager and the project isn't under the mercy of one individual. This ensures that a company's training programs for workers which are meant to achieve strategic goals are not hampered.

Audits & Feedback Loops that track Strategic Goals : Accountability is critical to getting the job done. Although most strategic goals and projects had audits for its operations department but no audits or performance tracking was carried out to track the progress, effectiveness on a real time basis on the role that the firms, its trainers incharge played in the execution of the project.
