Enthalphy of dissolution = lattice energy + enthalphy of hydration

Lattice energy value is +ve

enthalphy of hydration is -ve

when temperature of resulting solution decreases it indicates heat is asborbed from solution. This indicates endothermic reaction i,e enthalphy of dissolution is +ve

This will happen if enthalphy fo hydration is smaller in magnitude that the Lattice energy
