The management accountants need to treat their primary customers the company's managers and provides the information required to fuel the process of decision-making. However these requirements may not be consistent with GAAP. The modern computerized management information and reporting System, the reconciliation cost from managerial information to GAAP information is relatively less. Moreover a Cost–benefit analysis would usually favor producing the information that will be most significant to the organisation, and leave translate, eliminate, consolidate task for the financial reporting group. Thus the management accountants does additional task for the organization by deliberately adopting internal costing policies which violate the GAAP that must be applied for external reporting
