Ans) Corruption is the use of unfair practices like bribes, misuse of power and other illegal ways to achieve the end. In general, the corruption leads to decrease in economic efficiency as it defranchises poor. Corruption does not allow natural laws of economy to work properly . It discourages businesses particularly the small ones which disturbs the economy and prevent it from growing.

As opposed to the common notion, corruption is not always bad. Even some economists argue that corruption acts as a lubricant to drive the wheels of the economy. The point is based on the argument that corruption reduces the role of bureaucracy and hence speeds up the business processes. It reduces the time spent in government offices and fostering the economic growth.
