You are interviewing an entry level accountant for a staff role in a major corporation. A CPA is a plus but not required. A college degree in Accounting or related is required. Some experience is a plus. The job is located in lower Manhattan (NYC) and pays 65k plus benefits and a 5% potential bonus. Interview Outline:

1) Questions will be asked about candidates personality and honesty.

2) Questions related to technical knowledge of the account management

3) Experience and other behavioral questions will be aksed.

4) Possible joining time frame and salary expectations from each candidates .

A panel of 03 members will be created in which an expert of accounting field will be deputed, a person from HR department and one or two people from any other business area will be appointed.

An email and telephone call will be sent to shortlisted candidates with appropriate instructions in detail.

Questions:

1). Why do you want to pursue your career in accounting management or corporate world?

It will provide the insights about candidate's interests and potential area.

2) Technical questions like differences between accounting principles and accounting practices. What is balance sheet? What are the software which helps organization to manage its day to day operations?

These questions will assess candidates knowledge and capabilities about accounting / clerk cadre role.

3) Questions related to work experience.

How you manage stress of doing payment or releasing payments to your clients?

It will show the candidates actual working styles and readiness to accept the role.

4) Why do you believe honesty is most important personality traits in an account?

It will provide us candidate having higher level honesty and integrity.

5) Why do you want to join us?

It will show the candidates interest towards joining the opportunity with us.
