Site selection is very important for any organization because it helps in setting up the plant in a perfect location which is easily available for customers and suppliers and which is suitable for the requirements of the firm. Some of the site selection considerations are access, environment, expansion etc.,

Access is very important in selecting a site for the business. The site must be easily accessible and transport must be available for the location . The site must provide enough space for the company to expand in future if it has plans to expand. This is because every company will develop and plan on expanding and the site must not become a problem for this expansion. The site must be visible from certain distance so that it can be spotted easily. The number of facilities helps in identification of the area easily and also the development of the place would be fast and hence transport and other facilities would be easily available. Private sector criteria helps us to know what would be the rules and regulations and how far the government would be monitoring the area . Depending on the requirements of the business we can choose the site as per the private sector criteria. Hence these considerations are very important to understand if the site would be suitable for the business or not.
