1. An effective manager is somebody who has the knowledge, skill and zeal to win. An effective manager needs to first be a good leader and then become a manager. If an individual has good leadership skills then it is most of the times true that he or she ends up becoming a good manager. The most important challenge of being an effective manager is manpower management.

The three most important skills can be determined as:

a. Leadership Skills - The leadership skills helps in gaining better knowledge on the individuals within the team and help them grow and deliver good performance results.

b. Risk Management - There are often times when tough decisions are to be taken during the course of time. At this time, an effective manager should have the risk management skills to take daring but sensible decisions which would provide a positive effect to the team and the organisation.

c. Time Management - Time management is another important as the manager will have several responsibilities along with various issues and challenges which might come up unexpectedly. In order to be aware and active about the decisions taken, the manager has to be able to manage their time effectively.
