The disc diffusion method should be read out in 24 hours after inoculation. What errors can occur allowing plates to sit longer than 24 hours?

The plates should not be allowed to sit longer than 24 hours and should be read out in 24 hours after inoculation because many antibiotics are instable at incubation temperature causing deterioration and inhibition zone previously formed may be overgrown by bacteria which are no longer inhibited by deteriorated antibiotics. Or periodic blank disk revealing absence of antimicrobial activity may appear because of deteriorated antibiotic
