The internal functional areas that are most important to examine in the strategic planning include the operations, equipment, and technology, human resources, finance, marketing, and strategy.
In doing the strategic planning the relative importance of the six internal areas and their ranking are as follows:
1. strategy- Strategy will play a significant role in the planning process
2. human resources- Human resources rank second because to fructify the strategic planning humans resources are the second important element.
3. finance- Finances will keep the entire planning process funded
4. marketing- Marketing of the products/brand is essential once a plan associated with the brand is one the line.
5. Operations- this will oversee how the entire process or manufacturing will be carried out.
6. equipment and technology- technology and equipment although at the last position will include all the valuable methodologies of carrying out a job.
