In this chapter we looked at the attributes of "effective" short-term objectives. We said that they must:

1.      Be specific and measurable.

2.      Include a specific time horizon for their attainment.

3.      Be achievable yet challenging enough to motivate managers who must strive to accomplish them.

Short Term Objectives for my Education and Future Career Plan

As I am studying MBA in Operations Management, My short Term Objectives are to gain more knowledge in Business Statistics, Business Analytics, Descriptive statistics, further, statistics play Important role for any Business success, we can collect data, measure the same and evaluate them, further, we can Interpret various Results as came from our analysis and evaluation, based on such Interpretation, we can improve various business conditions, it has also long career Impact, as with this efforts, I will be able to take analyst role in the future profession, I can be Practitioner for Business Improvement and excellence activities, I can train and teach people on this subject, so others people also can grow their Interest on this subjects and on various strategic improvement as needed for Business, The Improvement can be measured by various process like, there are various assignment and test conducted by college and getting score above 85% in Mock Test and getting test score of 80% and above, can define that I hone lot more expertise in this Area, further, I want also practice for next 2 years in the same discipline,	The time for completing the strategic guide on Business statistics, take 2 years to 3 Years, further, we want practice in profession and research/ development for long time	The achievement can be done successfully, but we want long hours of dedication and practices,
Further, My short term goal, as I am doing study and research on project management, thus, gaining various strategic expertise, Knowledge, understanding various knowledge gaps, and applying in real business, get started working on project management consulting and network building, all are highly essential to take expert level in project management, also there is exam like Certified associate in project management also helps us to gain better skills and expertise in the same field, the knowledge and development level can be evaluated by taking various assessment like Mock test, Test simulations and Real Test, everywhere I should get 80% and above, which can fix that I have covered good knowledge in that field,	The time for completing the strategic guide on Project Management, take 1 years to 3 Years, further, we want practice in profession and research/ development for long time	The achievement can be done successfully, but we want long hours of dedication and practices,

According to my Opinion, that all such short term career goals have good Impact on my career, as I can practice all such strategic areas in various way, like participating into profession, engage in Research and Development activity, Participating in training and coaching services, and further, we can get to hone more skills, knowledge and get also opportunity for brainstorming that could be individual or group brainstorming, with such efforts, we can fulfill our career needs and business needs of various organization and social needs as well,
