ReportAnswer #1
rough:-
20*2-30*cos30=50*vx
-30*sin30=50*vy

vx=(40-30*cos30)/50
vy=(-15)/50

vx=0.28
vy=-0.3

Vr=0.41

i.e
Fair:-
Momentum Before east = Momentum After east
0.020(2.0) - 0.030(1.0)cos30deg = (0.020+0.030)Veast
Veast = [0.020(2.0) - 0.030(1)cos30deg]/(0.020+0.030)
Veast = 0.280 m/s

Momentum Before north = Momentum After north
0.020(0) - 0.030(1.0)sin30deg = (0.050)Vnorth
Vnorth = [0.020(0) - 0.030(1.0)sin30deg]/0.050
Vnorth = - 0.3 m/s

Vr = resultant velocity = v[(Veast)^2 + (Vnorth)^2]
Vr = v[0.280^2 + (-0.3)^2]
Vr = 0.41 m/sec

b)

The angle is south of east
atan(-.3/0.28)

-47 degrees
or 47 degrees south of east
or
313 degrees
