A Nurse should approach to the patient in a calm manner ,speak softly to the patient and maintain a good trusting relationship with her. So that the client will feel free to ventilate her feelings .Here the client admitted with severe weakness , weight loss and chronic depression so the nurse should able to understand their feeling and should act accordingly. If they show reluctance to have food or to dress up , we should first listen to their feelings and tell them the importance of having nutritious food and being hygienic. Please do not compell them to do if we are approaching in soft manner they will follow your words. Help the patient by providing support like they are not alone, we are here to help you at anytime , so they will feel comfortable. Also nurse can engage them in individual counselling , peer group support , religious support etc helps them to adapt to the situation they face .
