Part 1: You have just started a new running regimen. You decide to track your progress so that you can evaluate your workouts. You decide to use Excel to track information about time, distance, and frequency of your runs. You plan to record the data for each run and to consolidate data on a weekly basis so that you can see how you are progressing from week to week.

Use the concepts and techniques presented in this module to create a workbook for tracking your running data. You want to create a workbook that contains multiple worksheets to allow you to review daily data, as well as consolidated data. Use your knowledge of consolidation to design a workbook that will allow you to analyze your progress. You should have at least one computed field, such as average miles per run, in your worksheets. You should include at least one chart presenting fitness data. Submit your assignment in the format specified by the instructor.

Part 2:  This exercise had you create a chart presenting fitness data. List two other ways you could chart the data in Excel. What are the strengths and weaknesses of each of the three chart types for the data you are presenting?

This particular question requires first of all a discussion on a theory of Critical Problem solving as per which we can say that critical problem solving technique is a way of solving problems or identifying opportunities when conventional thinking has failed. It encourages one to find fresh perspectives and come up with innovative solutions, so that such person can formulate a plan to overcome obstacles and reach it’s goals (such goal can be anything like this particular question has a running regimen- again the word regimen means a prescribed course of medical treatment, diet, or exercise for the promotion or restoration of health.)

(Note : As per the question running regimen needs to be tracked down over excel, hence it is assumed that person going through this solution has basis understanding of excel like VLOOKUP, PIVOTS, Charts, etc.)
