6. In what way are some indicators "resistant"

Answer: The resistant indicators are those which are least influenced by the extreme values. For example, the median is least affected measures of central tendency by the outliers. Therefore, the indicator which shows the least influence of outliers is resistant.

7. What are the resistant indicators for

a. Central tendency?

Answer: The median is the most resistant indicator of measures of central tendency. The mode is also not much affected by the outliers.

.b. Range.

Answer: The range is the least resistant indicator of measures of dispersion because it is most affected by the outliers.

c. Standard deviation

Answer: Standard deviation is also non-resistant measures of dispersion because it gets heavily influenced by the outliers.
