Q = 5.5 nC = 5.5 x 10-9 C

R = 26 cm = 0.26 m

A) Potential outside the sphere is given by

V = rac{kQ}{r}

where,

4πε0

and r = 50 cm = 0.50 m

9 × 109 × 5.5 × 10-9 0.5

herefore V = 99 V

B)

potential at point r = 26cm = 0.26 m

9 × 109 × 3.5 × 10-9 0.26

V = 190.38 V
