Part A:

According to Charles' law, the volume of a fixed amount of gas at constant pressure is directly proportional to its absolute temperature.

=> V/T = constant

=> V1 / T1 = V2 / T2 ------------------------------------ (1)

Given the initial volume V1 = 1.05 x 103 L

Initial temperature T1 = 190C =(19+273) = 292K

Final temperature T2 = 730C = (73+ 273)K = 346K

Final volume V2 = ?

Substitute this values in equation (1), we get

1.05 x 103 L / 292K = V2 / 346K

=> V2 = [1.05 x 103 L / 292K ] x 346K

=> V2 = 1244.1 L = 1.24 x 103 L

Hence, final volume = 1.24 x 103 L

Part B :

According to Charles' law, the volume of a fixed amount of gas at constant pressure is directly proportional to its absolute temperature.

=> V1 / T1 = V2 / T2 ------------------------------------ (1)

Given the initial volume V1 = 1.05 x 103 L

Initial temperature T1 = 190C =(19+273) = 292K

Final temperature T2 = ?

Final volume V2 = 2.10 x 103 L

Substitute this values in equation (1), we get

1.05 x 103 L / 292K = 2.10 x 103 L/ T2

=> T2 = [2.10 x 103 L x 292K ] / 1.05 x 103 L

=> T2 = 584 K

Hence, final temperature = (584 -273) 0 C

= 3110C
