Question 1) Option A) are boxplots
Boxplots gives us a detailed information based on the 5 statistics, namely, minimum value, maximum value, first quartile, third quartile and median. Box plots are also useful for identifying outliers and for comparing distributions. Since, we are comparing more than one datasets of output per worker for 4 factories, boxplots would be the best way for presenting the information in a number summary of the above 5 statistics.
Question 2) Option C) Reject the null
A small p value tells us that the null hypothesis should be rejected whereas a large p value tells us that the null hypothesis should be accepted. When p value is less than the significance level we reject the null hypothesis. In this case, since the p value is 0.03 which is less than 0.05 significance level, we reject the null hypothesis.
Question 3) Option A) 303
The formula for finding the mean = ( Σ xi ) / n
= (212 + 324 + 299 + 265 + 199 + 352 + 381 + 392)/8
= 2424/8
= 303
