1. Five steps of grieving process are Denial, Anger, bargaining,

Depression and acceptance.

1. Denial:- denial is a defense mechanisms which is very natural in which there is conscious or unconscious refusal to accept the facts by the individual. Here the person is not ready to accept the reality. For e.g patients has got HIV infection at the very earliest he will deny this fact

2. Anger:- anger can be shown in many ways. Individual with emotional upsets gets angry with themselves. They think why this has happened to me only and there is outrage .for e.g post report patient will get angry.

3. Bargaining:- here the person tries to compromise when he/she understands something's cannot be changed but can be adjusted. For e.g patient will ask for the options which will ease the treatment and will give best possible outcome.

4. Depression:- in this stage there is fear, regret , feeling of sadness. Depression basically shows that the individual has started to accept the reality. Here the person does not want to be associated with anyone, wants to leave alone, does not communicate with others. For e.g patient will feel sad, will have regret about the disease condition.

5. Acceptance:- this varies from individual to individual. Some starts accepting the things before they are bound to happen. For eg. Patient here starts accepting that they are going to die after some period of time.
