Assessing competencies and continually improving one’s skills is the responsibility of everyone in an organisation. Discuss in 80–100 words.
First lets understand the meaning of the words "Competencies" and "Skills". Competencies can be referred as measurable skills, knowledge, ability of a person in doing a particular work, for carrying out the designated work effectively. Skills can be referred as the the learned capacity to bring about the result you want with certainty.
Lets now move to the discussion.
An organisation is not operated by a single person, rather it is a joint effort of all the persons employed in that particular organisation. Everyone in an organisation have different competencies and skills, and the work is allotted to the employees only after assessing their competencies. For the better future of any organisation, every person employed shall look forward to improve his/ her skills and focus on continuous learning. It has to do with the shaping a team to adapt to changes in the business environment. And, a team don't work in isolation, it is a group of different persons and, only by assessing competencies and improving their skills as a group can lead to business growth and sustainability.
So, since it's a job of all persons in an organisation and everyone is mostly dependent on other's work. Improving the skills of only one person cannot make the organisation to meet it targets, but it is the responsibility of each and every person employed to continuously learn and train themselves.
