Answer #1

We know for the same direction of current of two wires the two wires attract each other.

Here d is the distance between two wires and equals to 1 mm =1\times10-3 m.

I1 is the current in wire 1 and equals to 3 A.

I2 is the current in wire 2 and equals to 3 A.

L is the length of each wire and equals to 2 m.

Know for 2 parallel wire with carrying current in same direction the net force is

.:. Fnet = μο1112 2πd

  47 x 10-7 X 3 X 3 X 2 or Fnet = - 27 x 1 x 10-3

  .. Fnet = 0.0036 N

\therefore The forces the two wires exert on each other (b) has magnitude 0.0036 N and attract the wire each other.

We have two very long wires, which are parallel to each other pointing to the right in front of us. The pair of wire is horizontal. The wire closest to us carries a charge per unit length of 1mC/m and the other the opposite charge. The two wires are 1m apart and both move together at 100m/s along the wire to the right. We are looking at what happens in the middle region of the two wires (not the end)....
