Answer #1

Total pressure = p(CO2) + p(Kr)

= 455 mmHg + 404 mmHg

= 859 mmHg

Use:

X(CO2) = p(CO2) / total pressure

= 455 / 859

= 0.530

Use:

X(Kr) = 1 - X(CO2)

= 1 - 0.530

= 0.470

Answer:

0.530

0.470
