Coley fracture is a fracture of the distal end of the radius bone.

This happens when there is a fall and quite common in players.

Education to patient;

Cast to be kept moisture free

the affected arm should be kept above the wrist level to reduce the pain and swelling.

To give full rest to the arm.

Healing will occur from 8 weeks to 6 montjs depending on the nature of fracture

No activity like sports to be done.

If involved in any activity the injury may worsen

to report immediately if any pain swelling worsens

to report if any numbness develops

the cast should not be too tight or too snug

Exercise if recpmmended by Dr

Dont drive with the broken wrist

Sleep while kerping the arm on top of a pillow on your chest

wear sling to immobilise.

Always kerp the cast clean cool and dry to avoid itching thay develops due yo sweating and perspiration.

Education to mother:

To ensure the above advice is followed strictly

To assist son if required to perform daily activities

not to allow to do sports before complete healing.

To go for regular check ups

To ensure patient takes a balanced diet so that healing occurs faster.

To motivate the son so that he doesnt feel depressed.
