Answer #1

(a)

Use formula T = 27 , where L is the length of the smokestack

\frac{T}{2\pi }=\sqrt{\frac{L}{g}}

(\frac{T}{2\pi })^{2}=\frac{L}{g}

472*9=L

(30.78) 22*9.81m/s2 = 1

30.72 1-2 * 9.81 = 1

ANSWER: L=234.2m
