I need to do presentation topic about Communication with older aldut.

Can you give me some point and some question to ask with classmate about my topic

COMMUNICATION WITH OLDER ADULT :

• Patience is the key, you must maintain your patience with them as due to old age they may be slow while talking.
• You must maintain a good posture, provide comfort so they will open up more to you.
• Ask more broad ended questions but do not confuse them with too many questions they may get anxious, let one topic finish then you can start another topic.
• Your language, tone and volume should be clear to them.
• Listen to what they are saying.
• Silence is very important especially if they are talking about their problems or struggles they have faced.
• Always put a smile on your face.

QUESTIONS TO ASK :

• At times when they are talking about their problems and struggles they have faced what should we do? Answer is silence and listen to them.
• Due to old age they may be slow in talking, what we must have in us? Answer is patience
• What kind of questions we should ask them? Answer : Broad ended questions ( As this will keep the conversations interesting.)
