Some people prefer to use the term ‘physically challenged’ instead of ‘disabled’. What do you think about this? Is there a proper term?
Ans) In my opinion, disabled may hurt people who face physical challenges, because Disable mean deprived of struggle, work and many other works. It may reduces their courage. physically changeed word assure them that they can fight against disability.
- I think pronouncing them 'disabled' would be too loud or rude, keeping in mind that they are not completely disabled. They are able to perform many others tasks. This word is quite generic. On the other hand the word "physically challenged" is quite alright. However using the word "differently abled" sounds polite and encouraging.
- Personally the word challenge gives me a positive approach of a situation. Positivity increases my will to 'do' so I would prefer the word physically challenged.
