Symptoms:

Anxiety, depression, mania, risk of suicide

Medication:

Antipsychotic drugs, Anti convulsions and antimanic medication ( lithium,carbamazepine, lamictal, valproate

Nursing intervention:

- focus on early relapse prevention

- psychosocial therapy can address this illness

- make Social relationship with patient

- avoid unnecessary stimuli around the Patient make them to get in to the suicidal thoughts

- lifestyle changes by modifying the charecter

- support work and individual counseling.

- family members support for effective coping and lifestyle changes.

Haldol: Antipsychotic drug

Side effects:

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, dry mouth, nervousness, headache, dizziness, drowsiness, insomnia, anxiety, skinrash, mood changes, blurred vision..

Precautions:

Before taking this medicine consult with your doctor if you have any neuro symptoms...If you have any cardiac problem inform doctors before taking the medication..Avoid alcohol and driving,avoid exercise, and don't have medication if you are pregnant and never breast feed the baby when you are taking this medicine..

Schizophrenia:

Symptoms:

Hallucinations, confusion, Delusion, Thought disorder, depression.

Medication:

Antipsychotic drug like chlorpromazine, fluphenazine, haloperidol, thiothixene, Trifluoperazine

Nursing intervention:

- check Patient hallucinations level.

- avoid environment stimuli it make patient calm down.

- involve patient in different Activites

- make necessary environment precautions to avoid suicidal idea..

- maintain social relation..
