Describe the role of the incident report in Risk Management. Give an example of an incident, and describe something the facility might do as a step in their "incident response" ensure patient's safety and to prevent this type of incident from happening again.
Incident report is a medical record where there is a written documentation about any accident happened to a patient or a staff.
The role of it are
Eg.,
A patient who is in sedation and adviced for mobilization after surgery at the earliest.If there is no staff or an attender with the patient and if patient tries to walk to bathroom to pee is at high risk for fall and sure injury or damage.The facility in those situations can take certain steps by having a policy of how patient to be mobilized post operatively
