The stereochemistry changes. Cl- attacks from the opposite side of OH- and as a result the oientation of groups about the chiral carbon gets inverted.

Add 2OH- on the right to balance oxygen and hydrogen.

Or, you can add 2HCl on the left and 2H2O on the right but in that case you mustn't show the Cl- groups and arrows.
