females are assigned with even numbered rooms

so, choosing every 10th room will make samples which will contain only females.

so, we cannot obtain a representative samples of both males and females

With cluster sampling, the researcher divides the population into separate groups, that is called clusters. Then, a simple random sample of clusters is selected .

Let’s assume that there are 50 gas station located and wanted to know mean price ,decision is made to classify all 50 gas stations as clusters, where gasoline price represent cluster. You can then use a simple random sampling technique to select 20 gas stations  from your 50 clusters. The price of gasoline in those 20 gas stations will represent the primary data for your study
