Order dose - 250 ml of packed RBCs to be given over 4 hours.

Drop factor is 20 gtt/ml.

250 ml in 4 hours(240 minutes)

(250ml/240min)60min = 62.5ml/hour

Answer - the pump will be set in 62.5ml per hour.

Explanation - First we divided 250ml with 240 minutes to obtain ml per minute

Then we multiplied ml/min with 60 minutes(1 hour) to obtain ml per hour.
