Any abnormal object or substance which does not belong to an eye is considered as a foreign body.

In industrial accidents the incidence of the foreign body in the eye very high. In general, If the foreign body is within the eyeball it is known as an intraocular foreign body (IOFB) and when the foreign body is outside the eyeball it is known as an extra-ocular foreign body (EOFB.

In the modified classification Intra ocular foreign body are any foreign objects in the in the angle of the anterior chamber, iris lens, vitreous, retina and intraorbital.

Answer:

Cornea

As the part of the eye, the dome over the iris and not covered with conjunctiva is the most affected part.

Most of the metal compounds are non-irritating to the eyes, except iron and copper.
