Drop a dry-erase maker cap and the strong magnet in to the vertically held aluminum pipe. Why do the magnet slower the the cap?

Answer :

As the magnet moves down the pipe it creates small electrical currents in walls of the pipe (Eddy currents). These electrical currents repel the magnet and cause it to fall slower.
