The shear rate for a fluid flow between two parallel plated one move at constant velocity and other one stationary velocity
\gamma     = v/h

here

\gamma is the shear rate ,units is reciprocal of sec ( s^-1)

v is velocity of moving plate ,units meter/s

h is the distance between two parallel plats, units meter

\gamma   = meter/sec/meter

\gamma   = sec^-1 >>>answer
