As a global community, how can international relationships, government responses and NGO interventions be used to improve the treatment of all individuals throughout the world?
When a global community is developed, then as a part of it, international relationships are also developed that are based on mutual benefits, respects for their people and formation of strategic alliances. It makes government to collaborate together and work in a direction, where best interests of people from their own countries are taken care of and they make mutual gains by becoming the part of the global community. At the same time, NGOs work with people, families and societies at the very base level, to identify the problems faced by them, and raise the concerns at suitable fronts, making governments to work on it. It may take time for the government to resolve the issues, but dialogue is established and work of negotiation starts to help people get rid of their problems and get some better treatment. Hence, building a global community is a noble idea, but it makes people feel better, when governments and their international relations as well as NGOs work together and resolve the concerns on priority basis.
One example can be taken of when American tomato producers suffered a lot due to NAFTA as cost of production of tomato in Mexico is very less than that of America, but NAFTA makes free export of tomatoes from Mexico to USA. To solve this problem, the governments of NAFTA countries worked together and put a price arrangement if tomatoes come from Mexico to the country of USA. It was done to help US tomato producers to get better off as imported tomatoes will now be sold at a higher price, making a level playing field in the industry. It made agricultural people get better off in the USA.
