Answer #1

Mass of ammonia solution = 57ml×0.90g/ml = 51.3g

Mass of NH3 in solution = (29.0/100)×51.3g = 14.877g

Concentration of NH3 = (14.877g/17g/mol)×(1000/100L) = 8.7512 M

Concentration of NH4Cl = (7g/53.5g/mol)×1000/100 = 1.3084M

pKb of Ammonia = 4.75

pOH = pKb + log([NH4Cl]/[NH3]) = 4.75 + log(1.3084/8.7512)

= 4.75 + ( -0.8253) = 3.9247

pH = 14 - pOH = 14 - 3.9247 = 10.0753

pH of solution = 10.08 ( Answer)
