Background: In Ochem lab, we are investigating the reactivities of certain alkyl halides. I added a picture from my lab manual that may help.

HulleUpone and enabol is a moderately powerful ionizing solvent. The silver von because of its ability to coordinate the leaving halide ion to form a silver halide pre cipitate, greatly assists the ionization of the alkyl halide.
