Tax question: parents live with taxpayer, has social security income to support themselves. Taxpayer has three younger siblings which taxpayer provided more than half support, every other eligibility requirements are met, question: parents may allow taxpayer to claim younger children as dependent children?

Note that to be eligible as dependent the concerned dependent should be either qualifying child or qualifying relative. Qualifying relative includes child, adopted child, brother sister etc. Thus, taxpayer mayhave sibling as dependent . One of the condition related to dependent is they should not be the qualifying child of another tax payer. If parents do not show them as qualifying child then yes, taxpayer can claim as his dependent. Further there is no limit on number of dependents thus, tax payer can claim all three siblings as his dependents.
