A patient came into the physician’s office with complaints of pain and blood in his urine. After testing he was diagnosed with the sexually transmitted disease chlamydia. When asked, the patient admitted to having a new sexual partner. The physician recommended that the patient discuss his condition with his wife, who is also a patient of the practice. The patient is reluctant, and the physician does not think that the patient will inform his wife if the diagnosis. What should the physician do in this case? Does he have a responsibility to the wife, who is also one of his patients?

The physician should tell the patient to share about his Sexually transmitted disease Chlamydia to his wife and get it tested and treated if diagnosed and stop STD from being passed on.If he doesn't so the physician should tell to his wife or report to the concern state health department as requested by laws.
