Alcohol and drug abuse puts a person at physical, mental, and social risk. Drugs and alcohol affect the normal physiology of the body. It causes respiratory, circulatory and neurological distress. It damages vital organs like liver, brain, and heart. Mentally, a person starts showing psychotic behavior, and suffers from emotional stress, anxiety, and depression.
Alcohol and drug abuse make a person dependent on these things. The ability of the person to make judgement gets affected. Alertness, body coordination and reflexes are affected by drug and alcohol use. It puts the person and his family at risk of financial stress, and disturbs the personal life.
Alcohol and drug abused person become involved in illegal activities and are threat to society. They become violent more easily and promote domestic and social violence.
